Attorney Jim Clevenger Declared Distinguished Hoosier

Jim Clevenger Distinguish Hoosier Dec 2018Governor Eric Holcomb declared and appointed Attorney James N. Clevenger as a Distinguished Hoosier in recognition of his 14 years of service with the Indiana State Ethics Commission. Clevenger was first appointed to the State Ethics Commission by Governor Joe Kernan on September 1, 2004. He was re-appointed to the State Ethics Commission by Governor Daniels on September 1, 2008. Governor Daniels later appointed Clevenger Chairman of the Commission. Clevenger was re-appointed as Chairman of the Commission by Governor Pence and by Governor Holcomb.

The State Ethics Commission enforces the Indiana Ethics Code as it applies to all state employees and all special state appointees of the Executive Branch. Its jurisdiction extends to persons or companies that do business with the State of Indiana.

Clevenger retired from the State Ethics Commission December 31, 2018. Clevenger practices law and is a partner with Wyland, Humphrey, Clevenger & Surrisi, LLP in Plymouth.
