High Speed Pursuit Ends with Crash

police-pursuitAn officer with the Bourbon Police Department was involved in a high speed pursuit early Friday morning, August 23rd.

About 1 a.m. Officer Matt Geiger attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation at Gumwood Road and Lincoln Highway. The vehicle fled and was speeding at over 100 mph.

The vehicle wrecked at Gumwood Road south of 15th Road.

The driver, Kristopher M. Weber and passenger Ryan O. Kiesow both admitted to drinking underage and smoking marijuana.

Both individuals were taken to the hospital to be checked out. Mr. Weber was then booked into the Marshall County Jail for Resisting Law Enforcement, Operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance and minor consumption of alcohol. He was lodged in the Marshall County Jail on a $1,500 cash bond.

Mr. Kiesow was charged with minor consumption and given a cash bond of $250.00.

Both have a court date of Tuesday, September 3rd at 8:30am in the Marshall County Superior Court 2.

Officer Geiger was assisted by The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and the Argos Police Department.
