Gidley Hands Gavel Over to Jacobs on Plymouth BZA

January 3, 2019

Mark Gidley_photoMark Gidley is serving his final year of a 4-year term on the Plymouth Board of Zoning Appeals and Plan Commission.  During Wednesday night’s meeting, Gidley, who has been president said, “I am going to be finishing my on the BZA. I think I’ve been on here 9 or 10 years and I think that’s plenty long.  I’ve really enjoyed it.  It’s not that I don’t enjoy serving, but I think it’s imperative that other people be involved, so I’m not going to be asked to be reappointed to the board.”

Gidley then proposed a slate for officers for the coming year.  He then proposed members: Art Jacobs for President, John Yadon as Vice President and Alan Selge as Secretary.  There were no other nominations and the slate presented was elected.

Mark Gidley has been the Marshall County Commissioners appointment to represent the folks in the two-mile district on the Plymouth Plan Commission. He then was selected to be the Plan Commission’s representative to the Plymouth Board of Zoning Appeals.

In other business the Plymouth Board of Zoning Appeals set their meeting dates and times for 2019.  Their meetings will be held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:30 in the evening or immediately after the Plymouth Plan Commission meeting in the second floor Council Chambers of City Hall.  The only exception in 2019 will be on November 5th, Election Day.  That meeting will be moved to Wednesday, November 6th at the same time and place.
