CMA_Frankenstein 1The Huffington Concert Series at Culver Academies will present “Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein” by Aquila Theatre at 8 p.m., Monday, March 18.

The Eppley Auditorium production honors the 200th anniversary of “Frankenstein: The Modern Prometheus,” considered to be the first true science fiction novel. Written by Mary Shelley when she was just 19 years old, “Frankenstein” still poses a myriad of ethical questions to this day.

Adapted and directed by artistic director Desiree Sanchez, Aquila’s production of this classic pays homage to Shelley’s original writing. The play caps off the Academies’ observance of the book’s publication, which included the opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to read and discuss it.

Tickets are now on sale at the Culver Academies’ Steinbrenner Performing Arts Center Box Office or by contacting Marsha Coven (marsha.coven@culver.org) or calling (574) 842-7058. Tickets will also be available at the Eppley Auditorium Box Office one hour before the show.

Founded in 1991 by Peter Meineck, Aquila Theatre Company is now one of the foremost producers of touring classical theater in the United States with an international reach, visiting 50 – 60 American cities per year and traveling abroad with a program of two plays, workshops and educational programming.
