Plymouth black metal sign 2019The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety took action on several requests during their meeting Monday evening.

John Montgomery from the Mobil Gas Cars and Coffee event in Plymouth was granted permission to have Beerenbrook Street closed one block in each direction from Jefferson Street for monthly car shows.  The car shows will be from 7 to 11 a.m. at the Mobil Gas Station at 1101 West Jefferson Street starting on May 4th.

Laura Mann, Promotion of the City Coordinator was granted approval to close Michigan Street from LaPorte to Adams Street for the annual Tractor Show.  This year the event will be held on Saturday, July 27th.

A request for sidewalk improvement by Stacey Erickson at 423 Minor Street was discussed by Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt.  He said the sidewalk is down fairly low on the transition priority list.  He also noted that the sidewalk in some areas is slate but not in terrible shape except where the driveway is.  He said there is a project planned later this year and the sidewalk maybe addressed with the plan that is currently being developed but he will have to wait and see of it finalizes.

The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety also approved a cleaning contract with Ecker Cleaning for the first floor of the city building at $100 weekly.
