Plymouth Police arrested a Cicero, Illinois man on Tuesday afternoon, November 19th after Marshall County Dispatch reported a vehicle traveling about 100 MPH west bound on US 30 from State Road 19.

About 1:15 Officer Enyart observed the vehicle traveling westbound at an excessive speed. Other officers from the Plymouth Police Department and Marshall County Sheriff’s Department clocked speeds of 108 MPH.

Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop with their emergency lights and sirens but the suspect continued westbound failing to stop at the red light at US 30 and Oak Drive.  It wasn’t until the suspect couldn’t get around semis that were also traveling west bound in both lanes that the suspect came to a stop.

During the traffic stop and investigation it was discovered that 21 year old Malik Jones had also struck one other vehicle while driving recklessly on US 30.  Malik Jones was arrested and transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was lodged for resisting law enforcement, Reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident.  He was lodged on a $3,000 cash bond.
