The City of Plymouth will conduct their regular meetings on Monday evening in the second floor meeting room of the City Building.
At 6:00 the Board of Public Works and Safety will hear reports from various department heads including a report on a sidewalk request by Jim Marquardt for Jim Emond at 412 Webster Avenue. The City Engineer will also seek approval for utility work in the right-of-way by Comcast for 103 Gideon Street and 1075 Elm Street.
The Board of Public Works and Safety will consider a request to allow outside food pantries around the city in a community outreach program called Caring Cupboards. They will also hear a request from Krisyn Radkiewicz for a Neighborhood Watch program.
The Common Council meeting is scheduled for 6:30. Council members will consider an ordinance to amend the rules, regulations and fees for the Oak Hill Cemetery.
The council will also consider an ordinance setting the salaries for 2020. In June the council failed to pass the ordinance on second reading.
Mayor Senter had proposed a 2% across the board pay increase for next year with the exception of the Building Commissioner, Airport Manager and City Attorney who would receive 4% increases. The mayor said both the Building Commissioner and Airport Manager’s salaries are currently on the low end of the 2017 Salary Survey. He said the increase would raise those two positions to the mid level range. Senter told the council he proposed a 4% increase for the City Attorney because of the time and overall work he has done on so many special projects.
Several council members voted no to the proposed increase because of the Attorney. It’s anticipated that the Mayor will propose a change to his first ordinance.
The city meetings are open to the public but comments and questions are limited to agenda items only. Anyone attending the meeting should enter through the Garro Street door and take the stairs or elevator to the second floor.
