County News # 1Jim Clevenger, Attorney to the Marshall County Commissioners told them during Monday’s meeting, “I either knew it and forgot or was never aware of a statutory cap for collecting fines through the Ordinance violation Bureau of $250.”

The county recently approved an ordinance setting fines for various violations and two of those fines exceed the cap.  The Travel During Declared Emergency and the No Thru Truck fines are too high and have been adjusted to reflect a fine amount approved by statutory caps.  The No Thru Truck fine was $300 and will now be $250 while the Travel During a Declared Emergency was $600 and has been reduced to $250.

A motion was unanimously passed to modify the Ordinance Violation Bureau and exhibit.
