Marshall County Police investigated a single vehicle crash Wednesday night that sent a Plymouth woman to the trauma center in South Bend.
About 10:15 Officers Giordano, Bragg and Bennett were dispatched to Queen Road, about 500 feet south of 12B Road, where they found a 2008 Ford Fusion, that had been involved in a violent crash. The report states that the vehicle had been traveling south on Queen Road at a high rate of speed. The car ran off the roadway to the right were it struck a mailbox, fence and utility pole. The vehicle rolled several times before coming to a stop right side up. The driver of the vehicle, 30 year old Carrie Edison of Nutmeg Road in Plymouth, was ejected and partially pinned under the vehicle.
The police report indicates Edison’s physical status appeared to be altered by drugs or medication. A blood draw was requested for drugs and alcohol and the results are pending.
