Clyde Avery, the Marshall County Emergency Management Director has issued a warning to citizens of the potential for severe weather on Thursday afternoon.
The National Weather Service is advising of a slight risk of severe storms late afternoon and into the night.
Avery said we could have locally heavy rainfall, with a low threat of damaging winds and large hail.
Impacts from the storms include ponding of water on road surfaces, especially along the edges of the road that could cause hazardous driving conditions. Strong winds could cause damage to trees or tree branches which could result in some power outages or damage to property. Along with the winds we could have hail stones that could cause damage to property.
EMA Director Clyde Avery will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they are made available.
