Marshall County Emergency Management Director Clyde Avery gave an update from last night’s storm that swept through the northwestern part of the County.
Here is the latest update regarding the severe weather that moved through the northern part of the county last evening:
There were no watches or warnings issued for Marshall County the National Weather Service at the time of the storm.
Avery said, “We did have several reports of funnel clouds and possibly tornadoes, but that has not been confirmed by the National Weather Service. However, we did see some damage from last evenings storm. The damage occurred in the area of U.S. 6 and Queen Road. Several trees were damaged brining down power lines in the area. One residence had damage that occurred to the front porch.”
Avery closed his comments saying, “We are currently under the “Slight” risk (2 out of 5) for scattered Severe Thunderstorms today into this evening. Timing will be between noon and 11pm. Primary threats include: damaging winds, heavy rain, large hail, and the possibility of an isolated tornado.”
