Marshall County is one of several counties included in a heat advisory for today that will be in effect beginning at 2pm until at least 8pm (EDT). Heat indices today will be in the upper 90’s to around 100 degrees.
IMPACTS: Heat illnesses are possible for those active outdoors. In homes without air conditioning, or those who are susceptible to heat illnesses such as the children and the elderly.
PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS: Drink plenty of water. Avoid drinks such as alcohol and pop. Use sun screen and seek shelter in an air conditioned building if you begin to feel dizzy, weak, or nauseous.
