On Thursday May 16, officers from the UNIT, with the assistance of the Marshall County Police, Bourbon Police and Indiana State Police, located and arrested Taran Holderman in a wooded area in Tippecanoe after a short standoff. Mr. Holderman was wanted on a Level 2 Dealing in Methamphetamine charge out of Kosciusko County which was the result of a UNIT and NET43 drug task force joint operation. During his arrest Mr. Holderman was found to be possessing a loaded handgun. He is currently lodged at the Marshall County Jail for Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon a Level 4 felony with a $25,000 cash bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
