Fresh from appearing (Just last week!) on National Public Radio’s World-Wide Broadcast, Mountain Stage, the American duo, Honey Dewdrops will appear at Wild Rose Moon in concert this Friday at 8 p.m. and Saturday at 11 a.m. on the Wild Rose Moon Radio Hour.
Specializing in Appalachian Mountain music, the duo, consisting of Laura Wortman and Kagey Parrish, features exquisite harmonies and tight instrumentals on various instruments including guitar, mandolin, and claw hammer banjo. Producing five albums to date, the couple prides themselves in shaping each performance to the venue at hand. “We focus in on that live energy of standing close to each other and presenting the music and songs in as natural way as possible,” they remarked. “And we revere the unexpected moments in the performance that enhance the arc of the song and it’s story.” The couple shares Appalachian standards and have also composed many of their own thoughtful songs. Not ones to shy away from difficult topics for songwriting, their song, “For One More,” speaks to a more humanist view on immigration based on welcoming rather than excluding. “We’re all better together,” says Parrish.
