IHSAA places Culver Academy boys basketball on a years probation
INDIANAPOLIS — The IHSAA has announced that penalties have been assessed to Culver Academy’s boy’s basketball team for undisclosed violations after a meeting with school administrators during the Oct. 10 meeting of the IHSAA Executive Committee.
Commissioner Bobby Cox announced the penalties related to the school’s boys’ basketball program in a press release issued Monday afternoon.
The school was represented at that meeting by Doug Bird, Head of Schools. Tim Maher, school attorney Kevin Cox, athletic director, and Mark Galloway, boys basketball head coach.
After reviewing the circumstances surrounding the violations and discussions with the Executive Committee the IHSAA announced the boys’ basketball program would remain on probation for the entire 2019-20 school year, that head coach Mark Galloway would be suspended for the first four varsity contests of the 2019-20 boys’ basketball season.
Commissioner Cox commended the school administrators for their cooperation and professionalism during this investigation.
