Indiana Governor Eric J. Holcomb ceremonially signed HEA 1010 outside the Indiana Farmers Coliseum at the Indiana State Fair on Monday.
HEA 1010 exempts military retirement income or survivor’s benefits from income tax. House Enrolled Act 1010 retroactively went into effect on January 1, 2019. HEA 1010 increases the income tax deduction for retired military members and their families, supporting our own Hoosier veterans while attracting others to the state. Over the next four years HEA 1010 will phase into a full income tax deduction for veterans’ military pension benefits.
