Stellar County logoThe Marshall County Crossroads Stellar Housing Committee has scheduled an informational meeting about a grant program that provides up to $25,000 for home repairs to homeowners that qualify. This grant requires no match money from the homeowner. The Stellar Housing Committee is planning on including this grant program as part of the Stellar application.

To qualify for the program the property must be owner occupied and it cannot be on land contract, a mobile home or a rental property. The household must also have an annual income equal to or less than 80% of the area median family income to be eligible. For a family of four in Marshall County that household income must be $52,000 or less. A single person homeowner the income level is equal to or less than $36,400.

To find out more about the program and how it might be of benefit, the committee will be having an informational meeting Wednesday, Sept. 4 at the Plymouth Public Library in the Laramore Room A at noon. There will also be a meeting in Bourbon at the Matchett Center on September 6th at noon.  Interested homeowners are encouraged to attend to get more information and possibly sign up.

The Stellar announcement is scheduled for Dec. 2019, so the earliest work could begin would be late summer or early fall of 2020. The number of households that the committee could help with this program will depend on the level of interest from this meeting and additional direct contact with potential families.
