Starke County MugShot_ James Lee Campbell Murder 11-28-19Sheriff Bill Dulin announced on Facebook that the Starke County Sheriff’s Department is investigation a Thanksgiving Day fatal shooting.

Starke County Sheriff’s Office received a call around 2:10 in the afternoon on Thursday, November 28th of a male subject that was shot and deceased at the residence in the 2000 block of County Road 550E.  Additional information to police was that the suspect was fleeing the scene and they were provided with a name and vehicle description.

Starke County Officers along with Knox City K9 located the suspect and suspect vehicle and a pursuit ensued for approx 20 to 30 minutes with the officers apprehending the suspect in the area of County Road 450W and County Road 150S without incident.

52 year old James Lee Campbell was booked into the Starke County Jail at 7:47 p.m. for an initial charge of Murder.

North Judson Police, Indiana State Police Crime Scene Techs, Starke County EMS and Starke County Coroner also assisted.

This investigation is still ongoing at this time .
