Lady Lancers close with win
LAKEVILLE – The varsity volleyball team capped off Senior Night with a hard-fought 3-0 victory against a scrappy Oregon-Davis squad.
Seniors highlighted much of the stat line against the Bobcats.
Senior Mia Mears served up three aces, handed out 13 assists and picked up a pair of blocks. Senior Haley Ross collected nine kills and two stuff blocks. Senior Kalista Lemberis led the defense with nine digs, while classmate Karly Unruh added eight digs of her own.
Olivia Goze led the net attack with 10 kills and four stuff blocks.
Sydney Coblentz and Alaina Kertai added seven assists each.
LaVille finished the regular season 18-13 overall, including six consecutive victories, eight wins in the last 10 matches, and 10 victories in the last 13 matches.
LaVille drew a first-round bye and will begin the 48th annual Indiana High School Athletic Association state tournament against the winner of the Westville-Bremen match on Oct. 17. Westville and Bremen will meet in the Oct. 15 opener at Bremen High School.
