The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has downgraded Marshall County’s risk of severe weather from “Slight” to “Marginal” (1 out of 5) this afternoon and evening.  Storms could develop after 4pm with the primary threat being damaging winds.

Heat will also be an issue today with heat indices nearing 100 degrees by this afternoon.Severe_weather

IMPACTS:  Damaging winds may result in downed trees, which could lead to damage to power lines resulting in loss of power.  Loss of power may become a health/safety concern for those folks with health issues due to the extreme heat.  Damage to property may also occur as a result of the storms.
