pitcountThe Marshall County 2020 Point In Time (PIT) Count, will be taking place on January 24, 2020. The PIT Count is extremely important as it provides data to Congress, the state of Indiana, and Marshall County nonprofits, service agencies, churches and faith-based organizations about the number and characteristics of the Homeless population in Marshall County. Accuracy of the Count also determines funding for agencies that assist the homeless!!

This PIT Count is not only important for those that receive funding but to every agency, shelter, church and provider of various social and supportive services in our county’s communities.

If you were a volunteer in 2017, 18 or the 19 PIT Count they are hoping you will offer your assistance again. If your agency offered assistance in the past or has an interest in homelessness as a pressing issue in Marshall County that must be addressed this may be an opportunity to help.

The committee is looking for locations to serve as PIT County locations on January 24th.

Homelessness is a reality Marshall County, even if it is not visible.

The committee will hold their first Marshall County 2020 PIT County planning meeting this Thursday immediately following the Community Round Table about 9 a.m. at the United Way office on Miller Drive, next to the new Aquatic Center.
