Plymouth earns big NLC win
SYRACUSE – The Lady Rockies took their Soccer Show to Wawasee Thursday night for NLC action. They came home with a huge 9-0 win.
Eight different Rockies were able to pick up a goal Thursday night. Mia Wojcik was the first to dent the back of the net for the Rockies. Aubrey Vervynckt had the assist on the opening goal. Emma Cook scored the second goal off a header and a corner kick from Julia Kinney.
Vervynckt kept up her high level of scoring next with a goal off an assist from teammate Lindsay Janus. Senior Andie Kizer picked up an unassisted goal for the Rockies next to make it 4-0.
Madison Stiles picked up her goal next for the Rockies off an assist from Kaylee Dragani. Kizer was the only Rockie with multiple goals for the Rockies on the night. Her goal off an assist from Lexi Rose made the score 6-0 in favor of the Rockies.
Dragani, Rose, and Lauren Manges picked up the final three Rockie goals on the night. Dragani and Wojcik had assists on two of those three goals.
The win moves the Rockies to 3-3 in the conference and 8-4-1 overall. The girls travel to Valparaiso Saturday to take on the Lady Vikings. JV start time is scheduled for 11:00 AM.
The JV Pilgrims downed Wawasee 2-0. Lauren Manges and Dafne Arriaga had the Rockie goals. The win moves their record to 3-3 in the NLC and 5-6 overall.
