Josie Edwards was selected as the First Federal Savings Bank senior Student of the Month for December. Josie was nominated by Mrs. Traci Hilliard who said, “Josie goes above and beyond and tutors students almost every day, even when I remind her to take care of herself.”

Jennifer Torres was selected as the First Federal Savings Bank junior Student of the Month for December. Jenni was nominated by PHS art teacher Haley Church who said, “Jenni has been the glue to our ceramics class. She is kind and including while showing respect to everyone. Her joy spreads to everyone in the room, and when she is not in class, we all miss her. I’m proud of her work and inclusion of others.”

Elle Houin was selected as the First Federal Savings Bank sophomore Student of the Month for December. Elle was nominated by Mrs. Lindsay Rogers who said, “Elle always comes to class prepared with her homework completed, questions ready to ask, and eager to learn the new material. She is a joy to have in class!”

Pavel Castellanos was selected as the First Federal Savings Bank freshman student of the Month for December. Pavel was nominated by PHS math teacher Lindsay Rogers who said, “Pavel always comes to class prepared and ready to learn. He participates in class, asks questions, and works hard every day. Keep it up, Pavel!”

PHS_Perfect Attendance Award For December2018Teachers Credit Union Perfect Attendance Award For December:  

Hoang Nguyen was chosen as the Teachers Credit Union Perfect Attendance Award winner out of the 90 seniors who had perfect attendance during the month of December at PHS.

Johnathen Dowell was chosen as the Teachers Credit Union Perfect Attendance Award winner out of the 83 juniors who had perfect attendance during the month of December for PHS.

Yesenia Bruno was chosen as the Teachers Credit Union Perfect Attendance Award winner out of the 76 sophomores who had perfect attendance during the month of December at PHS.

Dayton Myers was chosen as the Teachers Credit Union Perfect Attendance Award winner out of the 81 freshmen who had perfect attendance during the month of December.

PHS_Growth Award For December20181st Source Bank Growth Award For December:
Heather Doody
 was selected by the staff as the 1st Source Bank Growth Award winner for the for the senior class during December. She was nominated for showing growth in the areas of assignment completion. Heather was nominated by PHS teacher Katie Duran who said, “Heather has earned over 7 credits this semester. She is working hard to graduate!”

Matthew Johnston was selected as the 1st Source Bank Growth Award Winner for the for the junior Class during December by showing growth in the areas of assignment completion and grade Improvement. Matthew was nominated by PHS teacher TJ Tippett who said, “Matt struggled to get his work turned in consistently during the first quarter, and as a result, he did not perform well on his assessments. Something changed in the second quarter and his grades improved by 20%, and Matt is getting all of his homework turned in on time. His work ethic has improved, and I am proud of how hard Matt has worked to bring up his grade.”

Natalie Rogge Loftus was selected as the winner of the 1st Source Bank Growth Award for the sophomore class during December for showing growth in the areas of assignment completion and grade improvement. Natalie was nominated by Judi Lykowski, her Radio TV teacher. Lykowski said, “Natalie has made a tremendous improvement in the Radio TV class this year in comparison to last year. She produces excellent quality animated graphics. She also follows through with turning in her assignment rubrics and getting another student to proof her work before turning in her paperwork. She has made a massive improvement in comparison to her quality of work as well. It’s not just me her teacher who is praising her work this year, so are her fellow peers who do anonymous critiques each week on our shows. Way to go, Natalie! I am proud of you!

Justin Houin is the 1st Source Bank Growth Award winner for the freshman class for the month of December. Justin was nominated for showing growth in the areas of assignment completion and classroom behavior. Justin was nominated by PHS math teacher Lindsay Moore who said, “Justin has done a great job proactively asking about what we are working on each day. He has been asking great questions in class and taking the initiative to try the procedures before asking”

PHS Math teacher Ryan Rust was selected as the Teachers Credit Union PHS Teacher of the Month for the month of December. Mr. Rust was nominated by his students for being positive and respectful of his students. One nominating student said, “Mr Rust is the best teacher that I can ask for. He is helpful and kind to all of the students.”
