PHS_NHS 2019 Final JL (1)On Sunday, May 19, 29 Plymouth High School students were inducted into the National Honor Society for their hard work and dedication to their academics. The induction ceremony was held this afternoon in the Plymouth High School auditorium. In all 29 students were accepted into the National Honor Society, which includes two seniors, 11 juniors, and 16 sophomores. The NHS serves to recognize students who demonstrate excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. To be considered as an inductee, candidates must hold two leadership positions, be involved in the community through volunteerism, and hold a minimum of 3.3 GPA.

PHS NHS students, their families and PHS staff members who nominated the inductees for this prestigious honor gathered in the Plymouth High School cafeteria for a small celebration immediately following the induction ceremony.

According to NHS.us it is estimated that more than one million students worldwide participate in NHS activities. NHS chapters are found in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, many U.S. territories, and Canada. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.

The Plymouth Community School Corporation administration congratulates all 29 students for their outstanding leadership at Plymouth High School and for being accepted into this premier organization.
