PLYMOUTH LIONS CLUB HEARS FROM THE MARIA CENTER AND INSTALLS NEW MEMBER

Lion's Club_Jennifer WeinertJennifer Weinert from Maria Center Resident services, a part of the Catherine Kasper Life Center was on hand at the May Lion’s Club meeting to invite everyone to come celebrate 30 years of service for the Maria Center.  The celebration will be held on Sunday June 23rd from 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.  At 10:30 a.m. there will be a Time Capsule Ceremony.  The Capsule will be reopened on their 50th anniversary.  Lunch will follow and at noon tours of the Center at Donaldson which includes Ancilla College, Ancilla Domini Chapel, Conference Center, Maria Center and MoonTree Studios.  If you would like to attend the 30th Anniversary Celebration please RSVP by calling 574-935-1784.  The Maria Center Celebrating their Past, Inspiring their Future.

The Maria Center is an independent senior living center and part of the Catherine Kasper Life Center.  It features beautiful unfurnished efficiency, studio and one and two bedroom apartments each equipped with a private bathroom and shower, full kitchen or kitchenette, window coverings and carpeting.  In addition, there are walking areas along Lake Gilbraith and on The Center at Donaldson’a spacious grounds. – comfortable living at an affordable price.

Lion's Club Anna Corbet, Judy StoneDistrict Governor MD25-G, Jim Reeve, installed Anna Corbet as a new Plymouth Lions Club member.  Anna’s new member sponsor is Lion Judy Stone.  Governor Reeve discussed the six International Lions Projects which are Pediatric Cancer, Diabetes, Eye Care, Vision, Leader Dog, and Speech & Hearing.  He added that Lions Club International. Is the largest service club in the world.

Several awards were presented by Governor Reeve.  The Centennial Service Award was awarded to President, Doug Feece.  The Chevron Award for 25 years of service went to Lion Abdul Baksh, a 35 year Chevron Award was presented to Lion Chris Curtis, and Lion Ken Lukenbill.

The next meeting will be June 17th and is the Plymouth Lions annual picnic.  All family members are invited to attend and the two scholarship winners and their families are also invited to come to Christos Banquet Center to receive their scholarships.  As Lions, We Serve and our many fundraisers allow us to offer scholarships and help support the many International Projects.
