Plymouth opens with a win
PLYMOUTH – The Pilgrim Basketball C Team opened its season Monday night by hosting the Mishawaka Marian Knights. The Pilgrims used a great second half and downed the visitors 36-26.
The Pilgrims trailed by a pair at halftime 16-14. A stingy defensive effort limited Marian to only 10 second-half points while a strong, up-tempo offense netted the Pilgrims 22 second-half points.
Lennon Creighbaum and Connor DeLee lead the Pilgrim offensive effort with nine points each. Michael Sheely added six points to aid the Pilgrim win.
The victory moves the Pilgrims to 1-0 on the year. Next up for the young Pilgrims is a trip to Walkerton Monday as they take on the Glenn Falcons. The post-Thanksgiving game is scheduled to tip-off at 6 p.m.
