Plymouth splits with NorthWood

NAPPANEE – The Plymouth boys and girls cross country teams raced at NorthWood Tuesday evening in NLC action.  The Pilgrim girls fell to NW, 24-35, while the Pilgrim boys edged the Panthers, 25-30.

Ashley Rosas was the first Lady Pilgrim through the chute winning the race in 21:13, 31 seconds ahead of her closest competitor. Summer South and Fatima Ramirez were one second apart for 5th and 6th place. Audrey Yadon finished 12th while teammate Amaya Ameling finished 14th to round out the Pilgrim scoring. The loss drops the girls to 0-3 in the NLC and 0-4 overall.

In the Pilgrim boys win, Konnor Ray was the overall winner, finishing 17 seconds ahead of the NW second place finisher. Robby Richards finished 3rd and Jonah Howard was one second later in 4th place. David Schadek finished 7th and Brady Hissong ran for 10th place to round out the Pilgrim scoring. The win pushes their record to 3-0 in the NLC and 5-0 overall.

Next up: Both teams travel to Elkhart Memorial next Tuesday to take on the Crimson Chargers and Goshen. Start time is scheduled for 6 p.m.

Lions 3rd, top girl runner

NEW CARLISLE – At the six-school Cougar Kickoff Classic, the Bremen Lady Lions faced a tough challenge and came out with a third place finish. Courtney Lawmaster finished first overall with a time of 21:35.7. She was followed by Rachel Hall with a sixth place finish. The Bremen boys also finished third overall. Finishing first for the Lions and 12th overall was Aaron Young. Jacob Fish finished 14th and Lextin Willis finished 17th. Seth Young had a season’s best time of 21:12.
