CHICAGO, Ill. – Indiana University South Bend volleyball’s McKenzie Powell earned the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Setter of the Week honor, the league announced on Tuesday. The award is the first for any Titan during the 2019 campaign.

In five matches last week, the sophomore averaged just under nine assists per set with her 8.83 mark. Twice during the five matches the Rolling Prairie, Ind., native hit the 40-assist plateau. To go along with the assists, Powell added 42 digs, 14 kills, five total blocks while also serving two aces in 18 sets last week.

Powell also reached the 1,000-assist mark in her early career over the weekend against Madonna at the Julie Martin Memorial Invitational.

With the help of Powell, the Titans went 2-3 last week with wins coming at Siena Heights over Goshen College and the Saints on Saturday, Sept. 7. IUSB is back in action tonight at CCAC foe Robert Morris. First service is set for 8:00 p.m. (EST).
