Miller’s assisted Living residents, guests, staff and volunteers rang in the New Year with a delicious Prime Rib luncheon and entertainment provided by entertainer Quentin Flagg. It’s tradition to “bring in the NEW, with Q” in the early afternoon so that residents may then spend the evening celebrating with family and friends.
The capacity crowd sang and danced along with Q to hits of the 50’s through the 90’s. As the set time approached Miller’s Volunteers passed out poppers and sparkling grape juice. Q enlisted help from the Housekeeping Department to demonstrate the proper way to use the poppers. At 2:00 p.m. as Auld Lang Syne played over the sound system the popper streamers were released into the air. Activity Director Cindy Flagg presented a toast and everyone raised their glasses high to welcome in 2019.
The Concert continued with songs of Elvis, Sinatra, Dean Martin and more as the audience enjoyed keeping balloons afloat in the air. Flagg ended his concert with the gospel song ‘Reach Out To Jesus” and an encore of Elvis Presley’s “Rock A-Hula”!
