Clarification on the rumors that spread this weekend on social media about vandalism to the AVTT Vietnam War Memorial Traveling Wall.
First and foremost, THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE VIETNAM WALL.
While there was overnight security at the Wall, on Thursday night there was only one security person on duty. There was a minimal amount of vandalism to Park Department property at the amphitheater in River Park Square on Thursday evening but not to the Memorial. The city was able to determine who did the vandalism and are handling the instance.
The city also increased overnight security to ensure the safety of this incredible memorial.
