Senator Young_IN Dunes national parkU.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) attended the official ribbon cutting for the Indiana Dunes National Park in northwest Indiana last week. Legislation led by Senator Young and Representatives Pete Visclosky (D-Ind.-1) and Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.-2) was recently signed into law to establish Indiana Dunes as the 61st National Park in the United States and the first National Park for the state of Indiana.

“Hoosiers for generations have known that Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore is a national treasure, but now the entire country will know with this designation as the 61st National Park,” said Senator Young. “This is going to drive more visitors and more tourists to the region, and certainly it’s going to help the economy in northwest Indiana grow. I’m really proud to have played a leading role to get this legislation passed.”
