Organization keeping seven easily accessible lots around the ballpark, along with a free shuttle for fans
SOUTH BEND, IN – Opening Night at Four Winds Field is just two days away. With large crowds expected all year, the South Bend Cubs are preparing their parking attendants and ticket takers for one of the biggest season’s yet. Because of the expected big numbers, the organization is encouraging fans to arrive and park early.
Parking this year at Four Winds Field will once again be $7. With seven easily accessible parking lots within walking distance of the ballpark, there is plenty of space to house the large number of cars coming through in 2019. Each lot has multiple parking attendants on-hand to ensure that the process runs as smooth as possible. Before each home game, there is a meeting with all of the parking attendants to make sure they know how many fans and vehicles to expect. Once the meeting is over, all of the attendants head to their respective lots.
Lot A is reserved for coaching staff, media, and select suite holders with a specific Lot A pass. Lot B, just beside the ballpark on the third base side, is open to all fans. Lot C is located next to the 1st Source Bank Performance Center. Lots D, E, and F are on the corner of South and Lafayette, but on fireworks nights, Lots E and F are closed for technicians to set up the fireworks display. Finally, lots H and I are beyond left field and The Ivy at Berlin Place Apartments at the corner of William and Western. On fireworks nights, additional lots, marked in red on the parking map, will be open to accommodate additional fans.
Fans who require extra assistance to get to the ballpark from the parking lots can once again use the free courtesy shuttles provided by Saint Joseph Health Systems. The shuttles are available before, during, and after every game. To utilize this service, please ask a parking lot attendant.
A reminder to all fans carrying a backpack or bag into the ballpark, all bags are subject to search at the bag check table located just outside the gates. A member of the safety team will check your bag and then scan your ticket. The organization appreciates the patience through this process. It is essential that every safety measure is taken to ensure each guest is safe and able to enjoy the game. Clear bags are not required.
Two new policies this season will be implemented on a trial basis. Lawn chairs will be allowed on the grass berms beyond right and left center field. Please note, these chairs may not be on the pathway and block the flow of traffic. Umbrellas will also be allowed inside Four Winds Field. However, they cannot be open inside the seating bowl and block the view of other guests.
For all guest needs, please visit the Indiana LASIK Centers’ Guest Service Kiosk located behind home plate on the concourse or find any South Bend Cubs employee for assistance. Fans can also text (574) 675-6398 with any concerns or issues. The 2019 season will kick off on Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. as the South Bend Cubs host the West Michigan Whitecaps for a quick two-game series.
