SplashPadMonday evening, Park Superintendent Mike Hite told members of the Park Board that the Splash Pad in River Park Square in downtown Plymouth is currently closed for repairs.

The pump has to be replaced due to people putting things in the drain that don’t belong there. The Park Department has removed all sorts of things from the drain…a shoe, a t-shirt and large amounts of mulch.

It is because of this that the pump has been damaged and a new one will need to be installed. Hite said the new pump is $5,000 and he ordered it on Monday with expedited shipping.

Hite is asking the community for their assistance in keeping the Splash Pad working this summer.  He said, if you see someone misusing the Splash Pad, please report it to the Park Department or the Plymouth Police Department.
