Members of the Plymouth Common Council conducted a public hearing Monday evening on the tax abatement request of AK Industries and approved a resolution confirming the adoption of the resolution declaring the property to be within an Economic Revitalization Area for the purpose of tax abatement. This was the second and final step in the tax abatement process.
Greg Hildebrand from the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation appeared before the council and no questions or comments were made during the public hearing.
AK Industries plans to expand operations at 1420 Stanley Drive. The expansion included the purchase of a building and the investment of $1.5 million for equipment and machinery. This expansion will bring 10 new jobs immediately with an additional 30 more jobs once the new facility is manufacturing.
