A school-wide Triton Gives Back Service Day was held on September 20. During this week’s Triton School Board meeting, Superintendent Jeremy Riffle said, “1000 individuals mobilized for the one sole purpose of living out the Trojan Way-Thinking of others over self.”
In upcoming events Riffle said on November 7th, 6th graders and some Jr/Sr High School students will again participate in the Feed My Starving Children Program. The goal is to aide children around the world who are malnourished.
During the meeting Riffle gave a special thanks to community members Joe Swanson and Earl Chupp for their donations to the NG3 and the Trojan PRIDE initiatives.
According to Riffle, plans are nearly complete for unification of students and parents. If an emergency arises that would indicate students would have to be taken off campus, parents would be notified by Facebook, a phone call and through the School Reach system.
A grant anticipated from the K21 foundation could mean renovations to the tennis courts. Riffle said 15 years ago, a grant to place the tennis courts was approved through K21.
The Triton School Board voted in approval of the 2020 budget and the Budget Reduction Resolution. Although the local board approves a budget, the final approval will be handled by the state Department of Local Government.
