Senator Todd Young 1-5-18U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) Thursday issued the following statement after voting for legislation to fully fund the government and provide $22.54 billion in total border security funding, including $1.375 billion for 55 new miles of physical barriers in the most needed areas along the southwest border:

“Hoosiers have made it clear that they want border security. While I’m glad an agreement was reached to fund the government, I am disappointed that Democrats refused to fully commit to securing our border. Under the Constitution of the United States, it the responsibility of Congress to fund border security and fix our broken immigration system. I will continue to urge my Democratic colleagues to put politics aside and come to the table.”
