Bourbon Council honors police

PDTo recognize National Police Week 2020 and to honor the service and sacrifice of those Law Enforcement Officers killed in the line of duty while protecting their communities and safeguarding our Democracy. 

WHEREAS, There are approximately 900,000 law enforcement officers serving in the United States, including the dedicated officers of the Bourbon Police Department; WHEREAS, since the first recorded death in 1791, more than 21,910 law enforcement officers have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty; 

WHEREAS, the dedicated Officers of the Bourbon Police Department provide a vital public service to ensure the safety of our community and preservation of life and property; NOW, THEREFORE, the Town Council of Bourbon, Indiana calls upon all citizens of Bourbon Indiana, to observe May 1016, 2020 as Police Week. In order to recognize Officers past and present that have served and are serving the Bourbon Police Department, who, by their faithful and loyal devotion to their oath and responsibilities, have rendered a dedicated service to the citizens of Bourbon, Indiana 

THEREFORE, The Town Council of Bourbon, Indiana hereby Proclaim May 10-16, 2020 as Police Week in Bourbon, Indiana, and in doing so we recognize the Officers of the Bourbon Police Department.
