Traffic Stop Ends In South Bend Mans Arrest

DUIOn Saturday June 13th at approximately 11:30 A.M. Marshall County Sheriff`s Deputy Bragg conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of U.S. 31 and 13th Road. During the course of the investigation it was determined the driver of the vehicle identified as 65 year old, Grady T. Bobbitt Jr. of South Bend, was heavily intoxicated. Bobbitt was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on charges of Operating While Intoxicated – BAC 0.15% or more and Operating While Intoxicated – Endangering.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
