Greg Hildebrand, Project Mgr. with MCEDC Discusses 2019 Successes with Bourbon Town Board

local News_2Greg Hildebrand, project manager with the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation shared some of the highlights of their successes in 2019 and plans for the future. According to Hildebrand, there were about 500 new jobs created in the county as the result of about $151 million in capital investment made in new and expanding business, which led the four-county region in capital expenditure investment.

He said they are moving ahead with the BEAR (Business Expansion and Retention) program that is designed to assess the local business climate and help with their needs. One concern that has been identified in the past is businesses struggling to find qualified employees.

He said one of the ways they are hoping to attract employees is directed towards marketing to veterans at two specific bases outside of Indiana to fill positions. The website being developed will host jobs that local employers post. Retiring veterans will be able to enter their skill sets and match with positions that are available in the county
