New Years Eve Could Be Icy

Icy RoadsClyde Avery the Marshall County Emergency Management Director said Wednesday morning, “We could see a more significant ice event late Thursday night into Friday morning.”  The National Weather Service in North Webster is forecasting the potential for Marshall County to receive up to .18 inches of ice between midnight and noon on Friday.

No Advisories, Watches or Warnings have been issued for Marshall County at this time.

Impact for the storm will be ice covered roads which will result in hazardous driving conditions and an increase in slide-off’s and accidents.

Drivers are urged to avoid travelling if possible. If you must travel, slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination.  Increase your following distance. Drive defensively and be aware of the increased potential for hazardous road conditions caused by ice.
