Marshall County businesses that have been struggling because of the pandemic are encouraged to apply for up to $7,500 financial assistance with the Marshall County Crossroads Micro-Loan Program. Applications are available at the town clerk’s offices, the township trustees, and by contacting Marshall County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC).
Businesses that need assistance with employee salaries, operational expenses, working capital, continuing business operations and to support remote work can apply. Applications should be returned to MCEDC at 2864 Miller Drive, Plymouth for processing.
Funding for the program will be released to the county as the applications are approved and submitted to OCRA. It is important for businesses to be proactive and begin the application process soon so that funds can be distributed in a timely manner.
This program is possible because of a COVID-19 Phase 2 grant from Indiana Office of Community & Rural Affairs (OCRA) and the cooperation of the Marshall County Commissioners and the Marshall County Council. The COVID-19 Phase 2 grant is for $250,000 to be used to help Low to Moderate Income (LMI) employees retain their jobs.
Employers that apply for the assistance and retain the employees for two years will have the micro-loans converted to a grant. Establishing a long term revolving micro-loan program has been a goal of the Marshall County Crossroads – Industry Growth Committee. Utilizing this grant from OCRA has helped accomplish this goal.
