A Bremen man died following a crash Friday, November 20th in LaPorte County.
Emergency responders were dispatched about 4:30 to US 20 and County Road 200 East for a three vehicle crash.
According to LaPorte County Police, a vehicle driving by Debra Birkholtz, 69, was stopped to make a left hand turn when it was struck in the rear by Arthur McNeeley, 61, of Mishawaka.
The impact caused McNeeley’s truck to veer into oncoming traffic and he struck a vehicle driven by Brian Klingerman, 62, of Bremen head on.
Brian Klingerman died several hours later from injuries sustained in the crash. McNeely and 65 year old Joyce Klingerman, a passenger in Klingerman’s vehicle and their daughter 33 year old Jessica were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. As of Monday both Klingermans were listed in critical condition.
LaPorte County Police say the crash is still under investigation as they await results of toxicology for alcohol and drugs.
