On Sunday, November 22nd shortly after midnight Deputy Bennett with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department located 25 year old Jacob Louis Egenlauf of Bremen at the Speedway Gas Station on US 6 in Lapaz.
During a brief investigation Enenlauf was found to have active warrants through Marshall County for Resisting Law Enforcement and Visiting Common Nuisance and was taken into custody. While taking him into custody suspected drugs and paraphernalia were located on his person and inside Mr. Egenlauf’s vehicle.
He was transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was held for his warrant along with charges of Possession of Marijuana and Resisting Law Enforcement with bond set at $3,005.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
