Monday, December 21st two of the largest planets in our solar system will be coming closer together once again since the last documented time in the Middle Ages.
“Alignments between Jupiter and Saturn is rather rare, occurring once every 20 years or so.
This event will be happening just in time for Christmas where the name “Christmas Star” or “Star of Bethlehem” originates from. While it’s not an actual star, the two planets will make a bright light in the sky.
Stargazers in the northern hemisphere should turn their heads and telescopes to the southwest portion of the sky about 45 minutes after sunset to see the planets align.
