The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety open bids on a project that will provide sewer service to the Centennial Crossings residential development on Plymouth Goshen Trail last week.
The city will be installing a sewage lift station on the west edge of the development with a 6 inch force main, extending from the new lift station west to the existing lift station located at the northeast corner of North Michigan Street and Plymouth Goshen Trail at CVS. The project will consist of a wet well, valve vault, 30 feet of gravity sewer, 1050 feet of 6 inch force main and various controls and communications equipment.
Four companies provided bids for the project. Haskins Inc. of Plymouth had a base bid of $237,250 with an additional $5,000 for the alternate bid. TGB Unlimited from South Bend bid $268,500 for their base bid and a $1 increase for the alternate. API Construction out of Laotto had a base bid of $326,150 and a deduct of $15,000 for the alternate. HRP Construction from South Bend bid $328,440 for their base bid and a reduction of $7,000 for the alternate bid.
Utility Superintendent Donnie Davidson asked the Board of Public Works and Safety to have the bids taken under advisement for the review process. The board approved his request. Davidson will make his recommendation at the next city meeting on Monday, July 27th.
