On Tuesday the Marshall County Commissioners extended the Public Health Disaster Emergency Declaration. State statute requires the commissioners to make a determined every seven days on this emergency declaration. This will be the 7th consecutive week the county has been under the emergency declaration.
On Tuesday the county had 29 new individuals that tested positive for the coronavirus. That brings the county’s total positive cases to 3,233 confirmed since March and 48 deaths.
The Emergency Declaration makes it possible for the County Health Officer, Dr. Byron Holm to implement any protocols necessary to help slow the spread of the coronavirus in Marshall County.
The declaration also opens the door to the county should federal funds become available to help fight the virus.
