Local News 2017Tuesday morning the Marshall County Commissioners conducted their final meeting of 2019.  After the regular business a couple of the commissioners had comments for the end of 2019.

During the meeting Commissioner Stan Klotz said he appreciated Mike Burroughs first two months in office and he looks forward to 2020.  He said, “I can’t believe my first year is over.”  He went on to say, “Kevin I appreciate you working with me for a whole year and I couldn’t ask to be treated any better.  I want to acknowledge what you’ve done and the way you’ve operated.”

Commissioner Klotz closed his statement saying, “I look forward to next year.  I know there is a lot of things on our plate that need to be done and I look forward to getting some of this stuff done next year.”

Commissioner Kevin Overmyer said, “I think it’s been a good year here in 2019, especially with the way we ended the year with the Stellar designation for the county.  We all came together as a county, city, towns, townships and private organizations to achieve that.  Now the work starts next year.”

Overmyer continued, “We have a lot of things looking at us next year.  The jail, clock tower, morgue, and a host of other things that we are going to have to be looking at.  It could be another court which means we will have to do some moving of offices.”  He also commended the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation for the job they’ve been doing in 2019 and said, “I understand next year could be better than this year.  There are just a lot of good things going on in Marshall County right now.”
