In the afternoon hours on Monday, November 16th Sergeant McFarland with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department obtained information regarding a suspect in a theft of firearms from a residence in Joliet, Illinois.
The suspect was identified as 20 year old Kristofer Conley of Culver. Deputies made contact with Conley at a residence in the 400 block of Ohio Street in Culver, where he refused to cooperate and left the area.
While continuing the investigation, Deputies were able to locate and recover the stolen firearms from the residence in Culver.
Mr. Conley was then located in Plymouth where he was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was held on charges of Theft and Possession of Marijuana with bond set $5,005.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
