Dr. James F. Rimel (97) of Plymouth, Indiana passed away at 9:9:00 a.m. on February 12, 2020 at his son’s home in Bremen.

Survivors include his loving wife, Betty, sons Jeffrey Matthew (Deborah) Rimel, Scott Allen (Susan) Rimel of Rowlett, Texas, and daughter Sue Ellen (Brian) young of Barre, Massachusetts. There are 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren who survive. Also surviving are sister Joyce Metier from Fort Collins, Colorado, and brother Warden Rimel from Austin, Texas, and brother-in-law Dick Riecks.  Dr. Rimel is also survived by several beloved nieces and nephews who he called almost daily. Dr. Rimel is preceded in death by his parents, sister Doris Knauer, Sister Wardine Riecks, brother-in-law Ted Metier, brother-in-law Max Knauer, and Sister-in-law Sue Rimel,

UPDATED SERVICE INFORMATION

Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 20, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the New Oak Hill Cemetery in Plymouth, Indiana. Pastor Toni Carmer from the First United Methodist Church in Plymouth will be officiating the graveside service.  A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home is privileged to be entrusted with the care of Dr. Rimel’s family.
