Hobart (Hobie) Martin originally from Hamlet and now residing at Miller’s Assisted Living was honored this week for his years of dedicated service to the Clifford Garbison Hamlet American Legion Post 356. The Ladies Auxiliary and the Juniors Unit made a quilt to represent the flag in which Hobie fought under to protect. They added a poppy to the quilt in honor of the men and women who have served and/or died for their country and deserve to be remembered. Hobie served during WWII and he also was a dedicated member of the Hamlet American Legion for 66 years. Thank you to Hobie for his dedication to our great country.
